Basic Fondant and sugar crafting workshop of fondbites is an intensive course that focusses on beginners of cake decorating. Starts with making of successful home made fondant to covering all basic techniques of how to work with fondant, moving towards creating 3D and 2D figures. You will also learn how to cover cake with ganache and smooth finish it. Drape the cakes with fondant and learn to stack the 2 tiers and complete the decoration with the theme provided.
The benefit of taking up this course is you get to ganache two cakes in the class, and also drape two cakes, that way you get more practice in the class which makes you more confident. You also learn stacking 2 tiers as part of basic course, so you don’t have to learn that technique again.
As a bonus, air-brushing will also be part of this workshop, with which you also learn to take your cakes to next level.
Days: 24th, 25th & 26th June 2014
Time: 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
Place: Perungudi, Chennai
All tools and materials will be provided including lunch.
Day 1: Making of home made fondant. Basic techniques of fondant, demo and hands on. Techniques covered are kneading, colouring, marbelizing, basic shapes, cutouts, inlays, outlays, bows, ruffles, quilting, 2D figures, 3D toppers.
Day 2: Ganaching both layer cakes. Start working on 3 D toppers for the final theme of cake.
Day 3: Drape ganached cake with fondant. Stack both layers with appropriate techniques. Finish decorating with the given theme.
Students have to bring the cakes for decorating on day 2. Size of both the tier cakes has to be exactly as mentioned below.
Bottom Tier – 8 inches diameter and 3 inches tall.
Top Tier – 5 inches diameter and 3 inches tall.
If you cannot bake your cake, you can pay Rs.1000/- in addition and I will provide you with both the cakes.
To register for the class, you need to pay Rs.2000/- as advance to my account (Account no. will be provided upon request). Registration gets closed once seats are full.
